Dr. Kenneth Kleinpeter begins year fellowship
Dr. Kenneth Kleinpeter Jr. has recently started his yearlong tenure with the Fellowship Council and the Minimally Invasive Surgery Institute. The Fellowship Council offers 132 surgical fellowships at hospitals and centers across the country.
The surgeons currently affiliated with the Surgeons Group of Baton Rouge have offered expert training and guidance through the council since 2004.
Dr. Kleinpeter may be new to the practice, but he is not new to the Greater Baton Rouge area. He grew up in the area and is a graduate of Catholic High, LSU and LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
He held positions at Kleinpeter Farms, LSU Golf Course and Pennington Biomedical Research Center before completing his general surgery residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, N.C.
His affiliations include Alpha Omega Alpha, Resident Admission; American College of Surgeons, Resident Member; Gamma Beta Phi (Academic/Volunteerism Society); and the academic honor society Alpha Epsilon Delta.
On a personal level, this warm and personable surgeon is married to an OB/GYN, and their Golden Retriever is currently the “Boss.” In his spare time, he enjoys golf, fishing and playing the guitar.
Dr. Kleinpeter will experience both general surgery and bariatric surgery during his year with the SGBR. Catch his surgical prowess later this month when he participates in the live Web cast of a bariatric surgery at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center.
Dr. Kleinpeter fills the position recently vacated by Dr. James Corder, who has accepted voluntary deportation back to Alabama.
