Dr. Hausmann

Mark G. Hausmann, M.D., F.A.C.S.


Dr. Hausmann is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and has practiced general surgery in Baton Rouge since 1992.

He graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and later attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he received his Doctorate of Medicine. He then completed his general surgery residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

Dr. Hausmann has been a fellow in the American College of Surgeons since 1995. He also is a member of a number of surgical societies including the American Society of General Surgeons, the American Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

He currently has research affiliation with the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group.

Dr. Hausmann currently performs a wide variety of minimally invasive surgical procedures. His special interests include laparoscopic forgut surgery (fundoplication for GERD and myotomy for achalasia), laparoscopic colon surgery for cancer or diverticulitis, and laparoscopic solid organ surgery for diseases of the adrenal gland and spleen. Additionally, he has focused on minimally invasive surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands.
